The Content Creator’s Guide to Vlogmas

The holiday season is upon us, which means our FYP pages are filled with holiday gift guides and Christmas decorating videos. It’s also time for one of the most exciting creator challenges of the year: Vlogmas! This 25-day celebration blends creativity with consistency, giving creators a chance to connect with their audience while embracing the holiday spirit. Ready to get started? Here’s everything you need to know–including our tips for staying consistent and some ideas to help you keep your content merry and bright.

What is Vlogmas?

Vlogmas originally started on YouTube as a challenge for creators to post one video daily during December, leading up to Christmas. In recent years, Vlogmas has evolved on platforms like TikTok, offering a shorter-format, easier version of the trend. TikTok creators post a daily vlog in the 25 days leading to Christmas, making it more manageable and less time-intensive compared to YouTube's longer-format videos.

Why Should You Participate in Vlogmas?

Participating in Vlogmas is a great way to boost your visibility and grow your audience, as increased posting frequency often leads to more views and higher engagement. The challenge also encourages consistency, helping you build habits that can carry over into the new year and set a strong foundation for long-term success. Plus, it’s a fun way to spread holiday cheer!

What to Post During Vlogmas

As the name suggests, vlogmas typically consist of daily vlog-style videos with a holiday twist. Here are some ideas (and examples) of videos you can post during vlogmas!

Tips for a Successful Vlogmas

Posting daily for 25 days can be difficult! Here are some tips to help you stay consistent and stress-free!

  1. Plan Ahead: Draft a content calendar to keep your ideas organized and avoid last-minute stress. Use Planoly’s placeholders feature to map out your upcoming content and keep track of what you need to film.
  2. Batch Create Content: Pre-record or edit videos when possible to stay ahead of the daily schedule, and then schedule them to auto-post with Planoly.
  3. Keep it Fun: Remember, Vlogmas is all about sharing joy. Stay authentic and enjoy the process! If you need to take a day off, or combine days, that’s totally fine! Just do what works for you.
