It's the moment we've all been waiting for... Meta is finally letting users reset their Instagram algorithms! While it’s not quite the long-awaited return of chronological feeds, the update will provide Instagram users with the ability to reset your suggested content across your Explore Page, Reels feed and main feed. When resetting, you’ll also have the option to review the accounts you’re following and unfollow any that share content you no longer want to see.
The update is still rolling out to all accounts, but you’ll be able to find it under settings > content preferences > reset suggested content
When you reset your algorithm, Instagram warns it may feel less engaging at first. That’s because your feed starts from scratch, showing fewer personalized recommendations. Over time, however, the algorithm will relearn your preferences based on your interactions, building a feed tailored to your current interests. “Your recommendations will start to personalize again over time, showing new content based on the content and accounts you interact with,” they shared in a blog post.
